The 4th grade class at North Elementary School in Roxboro, NC spent three days with Kathie to create a class quilt this past November. The students have been studying state and local history they designed their blocks to reflect what they have learned. Over the three days, students created their individual blocks, worked on a sewing machine to assemble the blocks, and finished their quilt by tying it off. 4th Grade Teachers, Signe Coffey and Kaitlin Burris, along with Tom Coffey and Larry Greenwold assisted the class. This will be the second year these students have created class quilts with Kathie. "We did this project last year with wonderful results. I can't wait to do it again," Kathryn adds. It is truly wonderful to see how excited the students are about learning to sew, and for many of these students, the class quilt was their first ever experience with sewing and quilting.
